Limp Lettuce: Home grown lettuce is often too limp to go right from harvest to salad bowl. How to crisp it up? Wash in cold water, shake gently and refrigerate in a plastic bag for an hour before dinner.

      This is a great article on making Hard Cheese (Cheddar) at home.  The Farmhouse cheddar takes significantly shorter period to age and be ready to eat than regular cheddar.  I can’t wait to try it. The Making of Farmhouse Cheddar | Chickens in the Road.
